The purpose of this episode is to help business owners understand the benefits and/or advantages of having the right apprentice for their business, understanding the whole apprenticeship scheme bringing your business to the next level – helping them grow and develop their organisation.
Research has shown that apprenticeship offers myriad of benefits.
By investing in talent development through apprenticeship, employers gain a pipeline of loyal skilled workers, increase productivity, and improve the bottom line however most business owners often overlooked this and is often battling out the whole idea of bringing in an experienced staff rather than an apprentice.
Oftentimes, business owners don’t want to hire an apprentice simply because they don’t have the time nor the resources to train or probably it’s not just easy for them and they don’t have the right support to do so.
Moreover, as companies, whether to bring on apprentices yet most of them have the same question in mind: What if I invest all this time and money training an apprentice, only to have them jump ship when it’s done?
According to Kevin, that’s a possibility, as it is with any employee. But advocates argue that the benefits outweigh the risks.

Kevin added, when he seeks for the right apprentice, he always asks; What do they like to do in their spare time? Through this, it will help him identify and find out the type of people that he is working with.
Kevin believes, those young, enthusiastic, hungry, passionate apprentices are like a sponge that they are going to suck all the information that you are giving them.
They will just do, follow and complete all the task that you want them to do.

Don’t look for apprentice that has more experience instead bring in someone who is young, enthusiastic, hungry, who is ready to do what they are told to do.
